In order to accomplish permanent, healthy change for our clients, Health Stand Nutrition Consulting Inc. offers a complete assessment of nutrition and lifestyle, and then provides vital education, customized services and follow-up to fully execute a new, proactive lifestyle for each client. Through this, we hope to make a dramatic and lasting impact on our clients' life-long health and wellness.
Who We Are
Health Stand Nutrition Consulting Inc. is a privately owned consulting practice, focused on assisting clients to achieve healthier nutrition and lifestyles. In business since 2000, Health Stand is owned by Andrea Holwegner, B.Sc., RD a registered dietitian who has served hundreds of clients, the majority through referrals by physicians. With the help of nutrition experts, personal trainers, and food preparation coaches, Health Stand aids clients with almost any type of health disorder or fitness goal. In addition, the company is very active in the media, and delivers many seminars to corporations, sports teams, and other groups.
Andrea Holwegner BSc, RD
President, Registered Dietitian & Speaker
As president of Health Stand Nutrition Consulting Inc. since 2000, Andrea Holwegner has counseled hundreds of individuals and groups on the benefits of healthy eating. She is an inspiring professional speaker who leaves audiences with leading edge tips for positive nutrition and lifestyle choices.
Andrea translates the complex science of nutrition into practical advice so clients achieve the vital changes needed to improve their health. Andrea acts as a regular consult to Team Canada athletes via the Canadian Sports Centre Calgary, and highly respected physicians send patients to Health Stand for her extensive knowledge. Andrea's friendly demeanor puts individuals at ease on potentially hard issues; empowering them to take an active role in attaining their personal goals.
With a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences, Andrea also completed a Dietetic Internship to become a Registered Dietitian. She is a regulated member of the Dietitians of Canada, the College of Dietitians of Alberta, the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers, and acts as a media spokesperson for the Dietitians of Canada.
This dynamic nutritional guru writes for various newspapers and magazines, and also provides the 'goods on food' regularly on television. She enjoys cooking, running, weight training, and yoga. In her spare time she can often be found in the Canadian Rockies pursuing her favorite sports of backcountry skiing, hiking, and rock climbing.
Carole Dobson, MAN, RD
Masters in Applied Nutrition & Registered Dietitian
Perhaps Carole’s French-Canadian roots explain her passion for good living. For Carole, good living means enjoying the best that food has to offer in a way that promotes health and wellness. But don’t worry, she doesn’t believe in sacrificing taste and enjoyment. Through Carole’s eyes, good living also means adopting an active lifestyle to the fullest extent possible.
Carole’s own life reflects these commitments. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science (Food and Nutrition) from Ryerson University and a Masters in Applied Nutrition from the University of Guelph. She completed her experience requirements with a diverse group of organizations including Health Canada, Kellogg’s Canada and leading tertiary care hospitals. Carole is a member of the College of Dietitians of Alberta and Dietitians of Canada. She is also actively involved in the fitness industry as a national trainer, presenter and instructor for Les Mills Canada, and a member of the Canadian Fitness Professionals Association. Carole uses her unique coaching style to enable individuals to push beyond their expectations, and achieve new levels of personal fitness. Whether she is teaching a class in yoga/pilates, indoor cycling, or weight training, her contagious smile fills the room!
Using her energetic personality and innovative ideas, Carole helps people fit nutrition into their busy routine and assists them in discovering new culinary delights. Based on her clients’ needs and goals and combining knowledge with a “down to earth” communication style, she empowers them to make life changing and life enhancing food choices. Her approach is friendly and warm, yet inspiring and motivational!
