I just found my new favorite recipe book written by Sarah Koszyk, a dietitian from San Francisco. Sarah has put this book together (with lots of beautiful photos!) to help us find healthy snacks for every day of the year whether we are at home, at school, at work, on the go, at a convenience store or for our sweet tooth.
Learn what a healthy snack is, how to easily plan and prep snacks and how to choose a healthy snack from a store when on the road.
Snacking can help us stay energized, fueled and nourished while increasing our metabolism, reducing sugar cravings, controlling hunger and blood sugar levels and preventing those afternoon crashes.
I made these tomato basil frittata muffins because I am always looking for a protein option that is easy to grab and go with a carbohydrate like a piece of fruit or a handful of crackers. These did not last long! Another snack idea of Sarah’s was beef jerky and dried figs. What a great protein/carb combination and a great flavor combination too!
