Calgary, Alberta – Edleun Group, Inc. (TSX-V: EDU), the leading operator, consolidator and developer of childcare facilities across Canada, announced today it has entered into an agreement to have its childcare centre food menu certified by leading Registered Dietitian Ms. Andrea Holwegner BSc, RD of Health Stand Nutrition Consulting Inc. The agreement includes the nutritional certification of Edleun’s current eight week rotating menu, as well as review of the food ingredients, adjustments to the menu and ongoing monitoring. Health Stand Nutrition will also provide health and nutritional content for the Edleun monthly newsletter as well as hold seminars on health and nutrition for Edleun client families.
“As we execute on our growth strategy under the Edleun operating brand we want to ensure each element of our centre programming meets a very high standard throughout our organization,” said Leslie Wulf, Chief Executive Officer of Edleun. “In this instance, we proactively sought out the expertise of a qualified independent third party to ensure that meals served at our centres are nutritionally balanced and contributing to each child’s healthy development.”
“While the current menu and recipe ingredients used in Edleun centres is good, Health Stand Nutrition looks forward to working with Edleun to ensure that children all over Canada are getting the high quality nutrition they require to grow and develop properly,” said Andrea Holwegner.
Since May 2010, the Company has acquired 20 childcare centres located primarily in Calgary and Edmonton. The centres are presently undergoing a full remodelling and upgrading process as well as the implementation of an education curriculum and the certified nutritious meal program. The Company expects the remodelling of the all 20 centres to be completed in the third quarter of calendar 2010. All acquired centres will undergo this upgrading process to ensure they meet Edleun’s high standards.
