I Love Farmers!
My mom grew up on a farm and I have fond memories of picking fresh stuff out of my grandmas garden and seeing the beautiful fields of wheat and canola growing for miles. Lucky for me, my auntie Evelyn and uncle Daryl are farmers and I get the chance to visit their place. Recently, on a visit to their farm, my five year old son got the chance to see crops growing in the field, veggies thriving in the earth, and a chance to feed the chickens and gather eggs. Priceless education considering I meet kids that do not know how carrots grow since they are only familiar with the bags of “baby” carrots (actually large carrots machined lathed into bullet sized pieces).
Support and love your local farmers as they deserve the utmost respect for growing the fresh food we eat. Visit your local farmers market or check out some of the Community Supported Agriculture programs.
How do you support farmers? I would love to hear about it in the comments below.

I’m a regular at Farmers Markets and Farm Stores. We have a farm store that raises and cut meat and carry other local foods year round. I’ve learned so much talking to the owners.
