Keeping Active With A Buddy
One of my favorite things is my four-legged running partner, Eli. He never says “no” and is always excited to run no matter what. Having a dog as a running partner keeps me “honest”; I can’t skip and say, “ I don’t feel like it”. The runs are quiet and I do all the talking, but he wags his tail when our eyes meet or when we stop.
Our most favorite runs are off leash trail runs. Getting outdoors and being close to nature is so important for physical and mental health. Even if we don’t run, we walk or to throw a ball around. I know of people who volunteer to walk dogs for exercise, motivation and companionship.
