One of my favorite things is a fresh salsa by a local producer. It is called “Fresh Salsa” produced by Sliced FC Limited in Calgary. The salsa comes in mild and hot flavours and it expires 7-10 days after production. I purchased it from Calgary Co-op and love how it tastes. I have used it in many dishes including burgers, tacos, enchiladas, wraps, taco salads, breakfast burritos and with tortilla or pita chips. I have also baked chicken with it. This salsa tastes even better with fresh cilantro or fresh basil added to it. Salsa is a convenient and tasty way to get more vegetables into my family’s diet. Tomatoes are a rich source of vitamin A, C and folic acid and contain a wide array of nutrients and antioxidants including alpha-lipoic acid, lycopene, choline and lutein. I recommend giving this salsa a try!
