Bites NOT from Andrea: Reflections on 2016
This newsletter intro has been hacked by the Chief of Office Awesomeness
I’ve been working at Health Stand Nutrition for just about 6 months now, and since this is a time of year for reflecting, I figured I would take over the newsletter intro and do some reflecting of my own.
I have previously written about having a child with Type 1 Diabetes, so I was familiar with dietitians, and some of the ways they help people before I started working at Health Stand. That said, it has been really interesting to have been able to sit in on some counselling sessions with clients and see the different types of challenges people can face. I’m thankful that we have had clients who have been receptive to me being present – I’m grateful for that experience. We have amazing clients at Health Stand Nutrition.
I have greatly enjoyed seeing some of the progress our clients have made this year – weight loss or gains, a new relationship with food, or learning new ways to manage a diagnosis that impacts food choices. It’s been an inspiring, and delicious, place to spend these last 6 months working. Delicious? Of course! We don’t only talk about food at work, we also consume it. Between tasty treats at meetings, sharing recipes and suggestions, or a mid-work day run to the local farmer’s market, it’s really exciting to work with great people who strive to achieve a balance between healthy choices, and some soulful indulgences.
As 2016 draws to a close, I’m looking forward to the new challenges of 2017, the new clients to meet, and new recipes to discuss. I hope that your 2016 winds up balanced between work and play, healthy and soulful. I’m excited about the year ahead, as the 6 months I’ve been here have been great – I can’t wait to see what comes next year!
