Roasted Chickpea Recipe with 5 Flavour Options
A great crunchy snack that is packed with protein and fiber!

These roasted chickpeas make for a great crunchy snack that is packed with protein and fibre or can go well added to any salad. You can switch up the seasoning to create new and fun flavours!
Makes 4-5 ½ cup servings
What You Need
Roasted Chickpea Recipe Ingredients:
- 2 (15 oz) cans of chickpeas
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1-1 1/2 tsp salt
- 2-4 tsp spices or finely chopped herbs (see below for flavours)
Flavour Options:
Honey Cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
Sesame Seed
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp sea salt
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
Garlic
- 1-2 tsp garlic powder or 2 cloves fresh minced garlic
- ¼ tsp fresh cracked pepper
- ½ tsp sea salt
Spicy
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp sea salt
BBQ
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tsp brown sugar
How to Make the Roasted Chickpea Recipe:
- Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Rinse and drain chickpeas. Place on paper towels or clean tea towel and thoroughly dry chickpeas.
- Once dry, toss in olive oil and salt.
- Roast for 20-30 minutes, stirring or shaking the pan every 10 minutes. When golden and crispy on the outside they are done. Do not overcook.
- Toss chickpeas in spices, if you add the spices first they often burn in the roasting process.
