Our Favourite Things: Let’s Hear it for Taco Tuesday!

One of my favourite things has to be “Taco Tuesday”! It is one of those meals that you put very little effort into, yet after the meal, everyone honestly believes you walk on water. I love the fact that Taco Tuesday is versatile… you can do it with ground beef, you can do it with leftover chicken or steak, and yes… you can do it with fish! Add in some fresh tomatoes, cilantro, cheese, lettuce and tortillas, and you have a phenomenal dinner in less than 30 minutes. But the trick to making taco Tuesday mouth-wateringly-delicious is to buy ingredients that are truly authentic.

For a few years now, I have been going to “Salsita” (formerly “Boca Loca”)… a little Mexican specialty shop in Northwest Calgary. I love that they have white corn tortillas, flour tortillas, homemade empanadas, mole, fresh salsa verde, and so much more. They also have cooking classes once per month, and this month they are featuring a gluten free class where everyone can learn how to make mole sauce. If you really like Mexican food, it is worth it to by ingredients that are fresh, authentic and delicious. “Salsita” is a one-stop-shop to making your taco Tuesday a complete success! Did I mention that they also do catering?
