Thoughtful, patient, and genuinely curious, Nura takes the time to truly understand your story before offering guidance. She’s passionate about building long-term relationships with clients, focused on trust and real, sustainable change over time rather than quick fixes. Having lived across five African countries and grown up on the Mediterranean coast of North Africa, she brings a deep appreciation for how food and culture bring people together. She’s also fluent in Arabic.
Nura’s journey to nutrition began in Senegal during a gap year, when she spent countless hours reading about nutrition’s role in preventing and managing chronic disease. That discovery sparked a deeper calling. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutritional Sciences and her Master of Applied Human Nutrition, both from the University of Manitoba.
People describe Nura as thoughtful, patient, curious, and genuinely enthusiastic. She cares deeply about understanding who sits across from her, asks the right questions, and takes time to truly understand your story. Her approach is grounded in respect for your life, traditions, and goals, especially when you’re navigating complex health concerns.
Throughout her education and career, Nura has worked with clients across community, sport, acute care, and long-term care settings. Her experience includes chronic disease management, cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation, weight management, nutrition support for clients using GLP-1 medications, and nutrition care for older adults.
She has also worked in hospital settings, caring for patients with a wide variety of medical conditions, including metabolic and kidney diseases, surgical recovery, mental health, palliative care, and complex medical conditions.
Nura gained experience in sports nutrition through a sport centre where she provided nutrition education to support performance and recovery for Olympic and Paralympic athletes in a variety of sports.
One of the experiences that has shaped her career was working with clients in a cardiovascular and pulmonary rehab program during her placement. Seeing clients over time and witnessing the value of ongoing support revealed what she truly loves about this work. Long-term relationships with clients, building trust, supporting real change over time is what drives her the most.
Nura continues to grow her expertise in women’s health, digestive health, chronic disease management, and sports nutrition. Fluent in both English and Arabic, she brings culturally responsive care into every session, making sure nutrition advice feels practical, personalized, and genuinely respectful of your personal preferences.
Outside of work, you’ll find Nura trying new foods and restaurants, travelling and experiencing different cultures, and spending time with family and friends. She plays tennis recreationally, has recently gotten into running, and loves painting and other creative outlets, calling it a form of meditation. And true to her love of food, she tends to go through phases of getting happily obsessed with one dish at a time. Right now, it’s pistachio ice cream.
