Holiday Leftover Ideas
Many families are trying to find creative ways to use up their main holiday meal protein as well as other parts of the meal. Here are a few ideas to try to reduce food waste and keep leftovers inspiring with something new:
Leftover turkey or ham can be diced into a soup, added to a quesadilla or on top of salad greens. Diced ham also could be diced and frozen for pizza or omelettes at a later date.
Leftover stuffing can be turned into stuffing balls. Roll cold stuffing into ball shapes and bake in the oven. For a delicious appetizer, roll the stuffing around a small cube of mozzarella cheese.
Leftover vegetables can be diced into a frittata, or added to fried rice for a quick meal option. Or mix vegetables with your leftover holiday protein, and add them as a baked potato topping or into a soup.
Cranberry sauce can be used as a topping for yogurt, cottage cheese or pancakes. Mix it into cream cheese for a tasty bagel topping. Or just treat it like jam, and spread it on toast.
