My Favourite Thing: Meatless Monday
Don’t worry if you enjoy meat – you don’t have to be a vegetarian or vegan to experiment and enjoy some meatless meals!
When meal planning for a week it is often helpful to breakdown the week into different themes. For example, “Taco Tuesday” and “Fish Friday”. Many people are now trying to incorporate “Meatless Monday” into their weekly routine with the intention of eating less meat for environmental, sustainability, animal welfare and/or health reasons. Some experts even predict that eating more plant based is the #1 food trend for 2018.
When making a meatless meal you still want to ensure you have an adequate source of protein to fill you up and help sustain your energy. Here are some alternative protein sources to try (or a combination of): lentils, beans, chickpeas, tofu, seitan, tempeh, nuts, seeds, eggs, cheese, nutritional yeast and/or hemp.
