Lentil Pasta Sauce

This delicious and affordable pasta sauce recipe is a simple way to add some excitement to your regular weeknight dinner routine! If you are looking to switch up your typical pasta sauce, this recipe is for you. Packed with extra protein and fiber, this lentil pasta sauce is a great way to make your meal more nutritious without sacrificing taste. Easy to make and perfect for the whole family, this sauce is a must-try for any pasta lover.
Makes 4 portions.
What You Need:
- ½ cup canned lentils
- 2 cups spinach (fresh or frozen) add in however much you desire
- 1 jar of favourite pasta sauce (marinara or tomato basil sauce)
- 4 cups of your favourite pasta
How To Make Lentil Pasta Sauce
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and add in 4 cups of pasta until cooked.
- Reserve ½ cup of pasta water and strain pasta to set aside.
- Add ½ cup of pasta water and ½ cup of canned lentils into blender and blend until smooth.
- Add in jar of pasta sauce to blender and blend for an additional minute.
- Pour lentil pasta sauce back into the pot and add 1 cup of spinach. Heat on low heat until warm.
- Add pasta into the sauce and mix to enjoy.

Please proofread this recipe. It’s for a pasta sauce yet after the list of ingredients it says: How To Make Cheesy Baked Eggs. The list of ingredients calls for 2 cups of spinach, fresh or frozen, but there is a considerable difference in volume between fresh and frozen spinach if you buy the frozen block as I do. Also, the list of ingredients says 4 cups of pasta but the directions only refer to adding 2 cups of pasta to boiling water. Some correction necessary.
